Welcome to the website of Golden Ball Cricket Club. We are a pub team based in York that plays friendly fixtures on Sunday afternoons throughout the English summer. If you'd like to play, umpire or score, we'd love to hear from you, please drop us an email or call our skipper, Pete Mitchell, on 07974 408656. The club plays its home games at Bootham Park, one of the five finalists in Wisden Cricket Monthly's Loveliest Ground Competition 2002. The club was founded in 1985, at the sorely-missed John Bull Inn, Layerthorpe, York, which was pulled down to make way for a flat bit of tarmac in 1994. Our current base is the Golden Ball, a fantastic traditional pub within the City walls.
Please check the Skipper's blog for latest news, match reports and various semi-coherent witterings.
